Kindergarten where has the time gone

In August Vied started Kindergarten.  This is something that she has not so patiently been waiting for.  As the time for the first report card approaches I can’t help but think of how well she has done.  She is reading me her bedtime stories right now and goes to a different class at school for reading along with two other kids because they are ahead of the rest of her class.  She answers her math questions with out skipping a beat and I just can’t help but think how far she has come is such a short time.

My kids love baseball

Since the time Vied was 4 months old she has been sitting with her Dad watching baseball.  Other sports never really caught her eye, but baseball sure did.  We recently signed her up to play in a small local sports league.  Nothing crazy, just a kind of make sure you like it and we will see from here thing.  Before she started we got to go to a minor league baseball game.  While there we had front row seats and Vied of course brought her glove.  The players took a liking to the little girl with the pink glove and she came home with three balls that night one of which was signed.  This fulled her love of the game even more.

So while her season is almost over we are not looking into the girls fast pitch for her. All the while her brother has been watching from the side lines.  Now it’s time to sign him up for something and he of course has chosen baseball.  So 2016 will be a very busy baseball filled year.

Story Time

Vied has taken to making up her own stories at bed time.  It started simple with her riding a horse running threw a field but over time it has evolved.  Last nights story was the best of yet.  She now has a rainbow colored water horse named Selena.  Selena allows Vied to climb on her back and ride her to their own island.  On the island Vied can hunt for Easter eggs.  Where she is trying to find the “golden egg”.  At night she sleeps in her tent on the island.  It’s a magical tent that won’t burn down with the fire inside and Selena sleeps under the water, but protects her while she is sleeping.

Perhaps I have a future writer on my hands.

Preschool Hazards

My children have started preschool.  Up until this point they haven’t been.  Their father or I have always been home to watch them so it wasn’t necessary.  Now it is.  On Vied’s second day of school I walked in to an accident report in her name.  It seems she walked in from of a child on the swings and got hit in the face.  When asked if she wanted a bandage or ice she immediately informed her teacher no, she just wanted an apology.  Hmm seems to me she walked in front of him.  But she got her apology.  🙂

I have a brain

Kids says the darnedest things as we all know. Vied informed me the other day that she knew everything.  When I asked her how she knew everything I was informed.  “Mommy, I have a brain!”  This prompted my immediate question of okay if you know everything when is Daddy’s birthday, to which I knew she did not know the answer.  When I informed her that if she didn’t know know Daddy’s birthday then she didn’t know everything she immediately asked him when her birthday was.  Know I know everything she says.  🙂

Happy Birthday!

My baby girl is 5 today.  The time has escaped me and I can’t believe that she will be starting kindergarten in August. She is growing into a beautiful, strong and very independent girl. So independent in fact that there are no birthday presents for her today since she has managed to find them already.  Vied is extremely into space and the planets so we got her this great book!

We had it stuffed under our mattress.  Yes she found it. She was very excited and over joyed when she saw it.  Her other birthday presents were her choice. So here is to cake and family and being 5 years old!!

Flea Market

My husband and I decided to spend our Valentine’s morning at the Flea Market.  I love unique blue bottles and we are always looking for old records.  We went to a small flea market that we hadn’t been to before and while walking around this is what Vied had to say.

“Daddy, I know why this place is here.”

” Why is that sweetie?”

“So all these people can sell their crap!”

128 pictures

I picked up the camera the other day to take a picture of the kids doing something.  I don’t remember what it was because I became instantly distracted by the amount of pictures I found on the camera card.  You see I had just cleaned it out and There were only 56 pictures left on the card that I hadn’t done anything with as of yet.  So image my surprise and I saw there was now 184 pictures. As I scrolled threw I couldn’t help but laugh, then wonder where Daddy was as these pictures were being taken. They started in my JDangerous’s room then moved on to Vied’s room ultimately ending up in our kitchen. Some are actually pretty good and the others I wonder what is that.

Coralling the Cat

It’s when they are quiet that I start to worry…

Then you hear the whispered conversation.  What do they want?  They want the cat. The cat who evades then.  She sits there on the chair in the kitchen under the table completely unaware of the plan that is being hatched.

Vied: “you go this way and don’t let her get away, I will go that way and we can corner her.”

JDangerous:  “Okay, but shhh Mommy is watching us.”

Obviously they think I can’t hear the loud whisper of a conversation. I watch as they slowly start to creep towards the kitchen.  As they get closer the cat’s ears perk up.  She is starting to realize what is coming and she won’t like it.

Mommy: “You need to leave her alone.  You know she doesn’t like when you get her and hold her down.”

JDangerous: “Run”

Vied:  “She caught us again!”

For now the cat is safe, but they will strike again.
